Firefighters and civil protection operators can work with precision thanks to STIHL’s first battery chainsaw and can cut through tough materials such as sheet metal, bitumen cardboard, or reinforced glass. Especially in environments where exhaust gases are undesirable, this rescue chainsaw provides a great advantage thanks to the extremely robust STIHL Rapid Duro R chain with carbide coating, reinforced with impact-resistant hard metal plates
• The high electric power of 3.0 kW is converted, thanks to the powerful STIHL AP 500 S battery developed specifically for this chainsaw, into a chain speed of up to 30 m/s
• Another advantage of the STIHL MSA 300 C-O R is its robust and weather-resistant construction. The STIHL anti-vibration system reduces vibrations, thus easing strain on muscles and joints. Additionally, the oil sensor continuously measures the available amount of adhesive chain oil, helping you work with as few interruptions as possible
• To protect the power electronics and motor, the MSA 300 C-O R is equipped with an easily accessible and simple-to-clean cooling air filter that traps dust and chips from the airflow. As STIHL’s first battery chainsaw, the STIHL MSA 300 features an operational and notification cockpit that provides you with all the key data and information about the machine

For this reason, they feature tested splash protection, whose effectiveness is demonstrated through rigorous internal checks. The splash resistance test is also based on the IPX4 standard. In the case of the STIHL MSA 300 C-O R, the splash protection, already verified internally, has also been certified according to the IPX4 protection rating

Note: you can use this battery-powered chainsaw with all functions only with a STIHL AP 500 S battery. The use of other STIHL batteries does not guarantee either all functions or maximum cutting performance

EQUIPMENT

Oil sensor
The LED display of the oil sensor provides reliable information about the chain oil fill level. If the LED is off, there is oil in the system. Red indicates a lack of chain oil.

Control panel and notifications
The MSA 300 features an electronic control and notification cockpit with an LED display. It offers the user three selectable operating modes and enables easy and safe operation of the machine. Additionally, thanks to the large LED display, the user always has all important information about the chainsaw’s status at a glance, such as the chainsaw or chain brake status.

Velcro filter
The velcro air filter of the new MSA 300 ensures consistent performance, even under the highest loads. Its extremely fine-pored filtering material keeps even very fine dust and dirt away from the power electronics and electric motor. To clean, spray the removed air filter with STIHL Varioclean, after a short waiting time wash it with lukewarm water and let it dry. It is then ready for use again.

DE-RATING function
The de-rating function offers you two advantages for your work: on one hand, this function protects your chainsaw from possible overheating by reducing the amperage. On the other hand, it informs you by reducing the power if you have only a very low remaining battery charge. In both cases, this allows you to complete already started cuts without the engine shutting off

Connectivity
It is possible to mount a Smart Connector 2 A in the designated position on the device housing. This connects to the control unit and the valuable machine data is transmitted to your smartphone, tablet, or the STIHL Connected Box within reach. You can view the recorded data within STIHLconnected via the STIHLconnected app and benefit from additional functions

Oil/Fuel Tank Cap
