Other information
- Variety of climbing borlotto bean with straight pod, 20/22 cm long, with cream-colored seed, streaked with bright red
- Very thin seed coat: this allows for a better appreciation of the bean's creaminess and flavor when consumed fresh
- Good shelling yield
- The plant is sufficiently vigorous and grows well even at low temperatures
- Among the few varieties to germinate at temperatures of 16-18 degrees, making spring sowing possible both in cold greenhouses and open fields
- Harvest after 90-95 days from sowing
The bean is very demanding in terms of climate: this means sowing should be done when the soil surface reaches a minimum temperature of 18/20°C.
Rake the soil to crumble it as much as possible a few days before sowing.
Make furrows spaced about 50 cm apart and place about 15 seeds per linear meter in the furrow.
Cover and press lightly.
Supports are not necessary; it is sufficient to hill up the plants well.
Regular watering and weed removal are also required.
