5 kg Package
- Exclusively from Barenbrug, Monaco represents the latest generation of superior quality Bermudagrass seed (Cynodon dactylon var. dactylon), selected for premium sports and ornamental turf
- Born from the genetic improvement program of Johnston Seed Company, Monaco derives from the crossbreeding of five parental clonal lines
- Commercial seed is produced exclusively from the F1 generation to guarantee genetic integrity and superior quality year after year
- Characterized by a genetically dark color (maintained for a long time even during dormancy), compared to previous Bermudagrass varieties, it features greater winter resistance, earlier spring green-up, and provides the turf with excellent density and wear tolerance
- Yellow Jacket Water Manager is a modern technology developed by Barenbrug in collaboration with Aquatrols. It is the world’s first seed enhancement technology aimed at managing water around the seed in the soil, from the initial seed imbibition stages to seedling formation
- The formation of a "survival zone" around the seed ensures the necessary amount of water for the seedling during the early establishment phases.
ESTABLISHMENT
Prepare the seedbed to be well refined. Sow the seed no deeper than 5 mm. For shallow broadcast seeding, mix the seed with sand to ensure the most uniform distribution possible. For best results, it is recommended to sow when the soil temperature reaches 18°C. Maintain adequate moisture around the seed with light but frequent irrigation for 3-4 weeks. Seeding rate: 10-15 g/m²
FERTILIZATION
Apply the first fertilization two weeks after emergence and ensure a good nitrogen supply throughout the summer season: BarFertile Sport (20-25 g/m²) or BarFertile Spring&Autumn (30-40 g/m²) until the end of August.
The amount of nitrogen applied will depend on the desired level of management intensity: higher quantities will be required for sports turf, while lower doses can be used for ornamental lawns. In preparation for the plant's dormancy period, starting from late August/early September, it is important to reduce nitrogen inputs and simultaneously increase potassium applications: BarFertile K-Plus (20-25 g/m²) or BarFertile Summer&Winter (30-40 g/m²).MOWING
Carry out the first mowing starting from the third or fourth week after emergence depending on the height reached, then maintain a minimum recommended cutting height of 25 mm throughout the establishment phase. Once establishment is complete, gradually reduce the cutting height of the mature turf to 10 mm. It is recommended to align the maintenance level with the set cutting height: the lower the height, the higher the management level should be increased.
APPLICATION AREAS
Monaco can be used on all high-quality sports and ornamental surfaces in full sun. Well suited to "transition zones" between micro- and macro-thermal areas, it can be established on tees and fairways of golf courses and, in general, in all areas where the Cynodon genus occurs naturally.
