USAGE TIPS
Seeding and Dosage: Germination can take from 4 to 10 days, directly related to soil temperatures (required soil temperature above 12°C). The dosage is 40-50 gr/sqm; maximum doses are recommended in case of high temperatures and/or imperfect seedbed preparation. It is advisable to use lawn soil. For renovation, increase the dosage to 55/60 gr/sqm
Mowing: Perform the first cut when the grass reaches 6-8 cm. Never remove more than 30% of the existing vegetation and do not cut below 40mm. Cutting below this height is only possible with a reel mower.
With mowing management above 60 mm, the turf becomes coarser, with a more pronounced leaf texture.
Irrigation: During sowing and overseeding, keep the soil constantly moist until complete germination. For mature lawns, irrigate with 10 mm of water every 2-3 days during the summer period. Pay attention to water management; avoid excessive amounts and frequency of watering during the hottest periods to prevent the onset of potential seasonal diseases. In case of shade from pine trees, double the watering times during the hottest periods.
Nutrition: Apply phosphate fertilization at sowing, then manage the turf at maturity with 25 units of Nitrogen per sqm annually, choosing fertilizers specifically designed for turfgrass, preferably controlled-release. Schedule 4 fertilizations per year. Also plan 2 to 4 biostimulant treatments to increase tolerance to foot traffic and heat.
New for 2020: Within the new Royal Blue 2020, there is a variety of American tall fescue (TCP) with extraordinary performance in terms of resistance, germination, density, and coloration. A further improvement of an excellent mixture.
