Composition

Mixture enriched with beneficial microorganisms, composed of:

  • Festuca arundinacea 75%
  • Perennial ryegrass 15%
  • Kentucky bluegrass 10%

Dosage and usage instructions
  • The recommended sowing period is from March to October – avoiding months with temperatures above 30 °C
  • 40 g per 1 m2 of soil
  • For about 20-25 days (during the germination process) it is important to keep the soil constantly moist with
  • frequent watering.
  • However, avoid waterlogging which could lead to seed rot

Hurricane consists of the best USA varieties on the market for color, texture, weed competition, and recovery capacity.
The rhizomatous fescues present in the mixture represent the latest generation of fescues, allowing fewer cuts, lower water consumption, and greater recovery capacity. This makes the lawn more competitive against weeds

  • Soil preparation

Work the soil removing any debris; to create a suitable seedbed, till the first 10-15 cm of soil and level it, taking care to give a slight slope outward to avoid depressions and water stagnation. To prevent future weed growth, perform a false seeding and remove the weeds that emerge after this operation

  • Sowing

The recommended sowing period is from March to October, but avoid months with temperatures above 30 °C as the seed enters a dormant phase. To achieve an even lawn, it is recommended to sow with a suitable spreader at a rate of 25-30 g/m2 in a cross pattern; to better adhere the seed to the soil, perform a light rolling, then water abundantly with a fine spray. During the germination process, for about 20-25 days, it is important to keep the soil constantly moist, avoiding water stagnation that could lead to seed rot

  • Mowing

When the grass reaches 6-8 cm in height, proceed with the first cut, taking care not to remove more than one third of the height. Throughout the year, maintain a height between 3.5 and 5.5 cm. To keep the lawn dense and strong, mowing should be done every 10-15 days, avoiding cutting when the grass is wet

  • Fertilization

It is recommended to carry out at least 4 fertilizations per year, using high-nitrogen fertilizers in spring and autumn, and a potassium fertilizer at the beginning of summer and late autumn

  • Irrigation

To obtain a robust lawn, it is advisable to water not too frequently, but abundantly. This way, the water penetrates deeply into the soil, replenishing the underground water reserve. The roots will develop deeply to reach it, making them less vulnerable to heat and thus improving the stability and growth of the turf; however, do not overdo it, as the risk is encouraging moss growth and washing away nutrients
