USAGE RECOMMENDATIONS
It is no longer necessary to heavily water or rinse the Growbag ADVANCED several days before cultivation
A shorter one-time watering is still required; experience so far shows that 15-20 irrigations of 2-3 minutes each, every 40 minutes, are sufficient.
Thanks to better and faster drainage, it is necessary to reduce the drainage holes; otherwise, leaching becomes too high. In this case, water savings are possible.
Irrigation intervals that are more frequent and shorter compared to 100% coco are optimal.
When reducing the amount of water, it is advisable to simultaneously check the nutrient content of the solution, which should be slightly increased.
Monitoring the salinity of the drainage water is important: due to the limited nutrient reserve of wood fiber compared to 100% coco, fertilization adjustments may be necessary during cultivation.
At the beginning of cultivation, an increase in manganese content, originating from the wood, may be observed, but this has no impact on cultivation or yield.
A slight nitrogen fixation during the first weeks of cultivation is normal, so it is necessary to ensure a sufficient N concentration in the nutrient solution. Increase nitrogen in the nutrient solution by about 40 mg/l, or according to the specific assessment of the grower.
Fewer fungicide treatments against root rot are needed, as plants and roots develop healthier and stronger.
The Ca/K ratio of Growbag ADVANCED is more advantageous compared to 100% coco. Thanks to the lower potassium content in the woody raw material, it is possible to avoid antagonism with calcium uptake, thereby ensuring Ca supply to prevent blossom-end rot.
